Backroom/Kiln Staff
Job Description
Our backroom staff is in charge of taking customer creations and bringing them to life with kiln magic. This is a flexible and independent position. The first step in kiln magic is dipping pieces into a clear glaze, then pieces are loaded into the kiln. Usually a full kiln takes about 1-2 hours to dip, and 1 hour to load. It is like a big game of Tetris and we usually play our favorite playlist while working! This position is great for someone who wants to work a few extra hours every week with a flexible schedule. Most importantly you have to take pride in your work and be detail oriented. The kiln is usually loaded 2-3 times a week, and during Nov-Jan it increases to 3-4 times. Right now our schedule is to start the kiln Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
Weekly Hours: 6-10* hours per week after training.
*If you are looking for more hours, we do have additional backroom job duties that could be added every week, these again would be independent and flexible hours.
You can also hold a position as a studio assistant and work the studio floor helping customers and also be backroom staff.
